Inn “Au Vieux Mazot” Evolène
The Auberge “Le Mazot” is located in the heart of the village of Evolène near the Church. It is a magnificent and true Evolènard chalet in larch and arole wood built almost three quarters of a century ago, recently renovated and which includes on the ground floor a restaurant and a dining room opening onto the terrace. Another Evolènard-style restaurant is on the first floor.
Two internal fireplaces and a hearth are used for preparing old-fashioned meals.
A large flowered and sheltered terrace, cited among the most beautiful in French-speaking Switzerland, provides a complete catering service with an external fireplace.
All the traditional Valais and Évolènard cuisine ranging from cheese dishes to meat is served in the high summer and winter seasons practically non-stop from midday until the evening.
Raclette and grilled meats are prepared only over a wood fire.
Specialties of the country include Côte de Boeuf and Hérens steak on slate, over a wood fire, with homemade accompaniments, such as rösti and creamy polenta. Depending on the season and reservations, you can taste the traditional Potée évolènarde.
The restaurant “Le Mazot Chez Raymonde” has the honor of being cited in numerous press articles and guides and having been the subject of several television broadcasts in Switzerland and abroad such as: Arte, TF1, RTBF , RTS One and Two SRF 1, SRF info, NZZ Format...

The restaurant “le Mazot” in Evolène is open seven days a week during the summer and winter high seasons and is closed on Mondays outside of the season. Opening hours from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m.
